By the sacred anointing of the sick and the prayer of the priests the whole Church commends those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, that he may raise them up and save them. And indeed she exhorts them to contribute to the good of the People of God by freely uniting themselves to the Passion and death of Christ” 
( CCC 1499).

Jesus unites himself to those who are suffering. This sacrament is administered by a Priest through laying on the hands and anointing with holy oil. Any Catholic who has reached the age of reason (7 years) and is awaiting serious surgery, suffers from a serious illness, weak from old age, or any ailment can request anointing.

We have two annual Anointing of the Sick events which take place after Mass where all who would like to receive Anointing are invited.
