Here is our annual parish financial report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2019. As you can see, there’s great news and bad news in this report.
Let’s start with the bad. In a year that the Archdiocese of Washington was rocked by abuse scandals, our collections and donations for the year were down 5.6% and as a result, we experienced a deficit of $37,881.
However, despite these challenges, we maintained our high level of support for those in need. For example, we sent $28,800 to our sister parish in Haiti over the year. In addition, parish registrations were up for the second straight year – a net gain of 9.3% over that two-year period.
The great news is that our school continues to flourish and is financially sound with a budget surplus again in 2019. Please note that this financial report does not reflect the large capital expenditures needed to maintain our school building. For example, next summer we anticipate major expenditures as we finish replacing the heating and air conditioning system in the older part of the building.
With deep gratitude for your generous support of St. E’s, I remain
