Colleen was appointed to a newly created position, Volunteer and Event Coordinator, in July 2018. Following a thirty-year career at Nasdaq, she retired as Project Manager Specialist and Assistant Corporate Secretary where she served from 2001-2018. Prior to 2001, Colleen served as Assistant Corporate Secretary of the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (“NASD”). During her career at NASD/Nasdaq, she also served as a Senior Paralegal, Communications Specialist, Compliance Specialist and Hearings Analyst. Colleen has been a member of the parish since 2013 serving as an usher, a Eucharistic Minister and in the Homebound Ministry. Since moving to the DMV, she has been a parishioner of Holy Cross in Garrett Park, MD serving as lector and weekly adorer; a parishioner of St. Matthew’s Cathedral in Washington, DC serving as lector, religious education teacher and fundraiser for the renovation of the Cathedral and a parishioner of Queen of the Apostles in Alexandria, VA serving as lector. Colleen has been a volunteer and lay associate (Association Jeanne Jugan) of the Little Sisters of the Poor (Washington, DC) since her best friend entered in 1997; the community inspired her to care for her mother until her death in 2017. Colleen holds a BA in Liberal Arts from the University of South Florida; a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from George Mason University and a Graduate Paralegal Certificate from The George Washington University. Born in Maine, her family moved many times during her early life prior to settling in Orlando, Florida. Colleen’s interests include DIY projects, gardening and reading history. She is “mom” to two Miniature Schnauzers, Duffie and Suzie.
