The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that “God created the world to show forth and communicate his glory. That his creatures should share in his truth, goodness and beauty – this is the glory for which God created them.” –CCC 319
God is absolute truth, unending goodness, and perfect beauty. Wherever we see some glimmer of any of these three (or all of them working together), we are getting a glimpse of God’s glory at work in the world. Catholics have always known this, and history is filled with examples of people who have devoted their lives to glorifying God by pursuing paths of truth, goodness, and beauty.
